Working with others as a team is a vital skill for children to learn, one that can be acquired through cooperative play. One of the joys of visiting the Staten Island Children's Museum in person is the "Big Games" exhibit, featuring oversized game pieces and all-around fun. This activity designed for children ages 2-7 is all about bringing games and creativity together to make new games at home! Use socks for a bean bag toss, talk sportsmanship and the importance of playing fair, and make a matching card game that can get your child thinking about all the possibilities out there for them to express themselves through play.
