What is Culture Connected?

Culture Connected is a NYC admissions access program designed to link families to the arts. We aim to be a resource to all families by addressing the needs of NYC’s most historically disenfranchised families. It is developed by ArtsConnection and has been generously funded by the New York Community Trust.

Who can use Culture Connected?

Everyone! Though entrusted to center historically disenfranchised families receiving public assistance, Culture Connected’s design welcomes every parent, caregiver, educator, young mind, and creative mind eager to explore various themes and activities from our cultural partners.

How does Culture Connected work?

Culture Connected links families to the arts in 3 ways: through virtual activities, events, and through discounted ticketed admissions. Virtual activities are linked to exhibitions and performances that can be experienced in-person.

Culture Connected helps facilitate your visit based on whether or not you receive public assistance. EBT Cardholders are also offered family admission tickets for either Free ($0.00) or One Dollar ($1.00) - Three Dollars ($3.00) through our site.

How does Culture Connected differ from Cool Culture, Culture Pass, and IDNYC?

Cool Culture is for families with 3-K, pre-K, and Kindergarten aged children at participating schools or early education centers. Culture Pass gives library cardholders access to one pass per year at participating institutions. IDNYC cardholders are given free year-long memberships at participating IDNYC partner institutions.

Culture Connected complements these popular access programs, however, we offer multiple ways for families all across the city to explore and experiment with the arts directly from home.

Educational activities are easy to find on our site and link directly to exhibitions or performances that families can visit to experience in-person. Additionally, by prominently placing each partner’s access guide on their respective institution page, all families will know what to expect at each partner’s institution during their trip.

Who are Culture Connected’s partners?

Culture Connected partners with cultural institutions across New York City’s five boroughs. Our current grant allows us to partner with up to 15 cultural institutions (3 per borough). Choose a participating institution below.
