"What is Sculpture?" Curriculum Guide
Written By Dionne Thornton
Sculpture is a form of art using physical materials such as stone. This curriculum guide aims to help educators teach children grades 3-12 about Isamu Noguchi's perspective on the complexities of sculpture.
The guide features 3 artworks, information about each, and a suggested activity. Students will go from a broad discussion about what a sculpture is before taking their creativity and grade-appropriate skills to create their own. These activities are an excellent way to get students to think about art, and can be used as a preparatory activity in advance of a field trip to The Noguchi Museum.
